Hi there

I have been in a flat for 3-4 years and it was clear when I moved in that the landlord had not done much in the way of redecorating on purchasing the property. Saying that, it was in okay condition so was happy to take it on.

3-4 years in, things are looking a bit tired and in need of updating, namely the kitchen and bathroom walls. Whilst I know redecorating is technically within my remit, the wallpaper in the kitchen (which is painted over) has started to come away slightly at some corners due to what looks like an old dampness issue. I also believe that if I was to remove the wallpaper, that the plaster underneath is not in very good condition and thus may become damaged in the process.

At this, can I ask my landlord to redecorate, given that it might not be a simple paint job?

Thanks
